Obituary of Alfred C. Tuzzo

Alfred Clyde Tuzzo (“Al” or “Freddie”), age 74, passed away on October 1, 2018. He was the loving husband of Nikki Marone. He is survived by his brothers Steven and John. He was predeceased by his sister Cathy Teter. He was the proud father of Andrea Tuzzo-Mehl , Robert Tuzzo, Kate Brevetti, Gregory Brevetti and Caroline Brevetti. He was the fond father in law of Brian Mehl, Regina Tuzzo and Josie Trefz. He was the dear grandfather of Olivia Mehl, Bailey Tuzzo, Alyssa Manzella, Alexa Manzella, Cal Trefz and looking forward to another grandson on the way. He was also the doting dog daddy to Charlie Harper and Ollie Friedman.

Al was born in Brooklyn, New York, on December 13, 1943 to Alfred and Lura Tuzzo. After graduating from Erasmus Hall High School he went to Boston College until having to transfer to Brooklyn College to take care of his sister and young twin brothers after the passing of their mother. He went on to get three master’s degrees in math, teaching and accounting from Richmond College and St. John’s University. He became a math teacher, working for the NYC Board of Ed. before becoming a C.P.A. and opening his own accounting practice.

Al loved traveling with his wife to watch the New York Yankees and New York Giants in various cities around the world. He enjoyed weekly trips to Atlantic City to play the slots and drink a fruity cocktail. He will be remembered as a man of few but hilarious words. He was a kind and generous man loved by young and old. He will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Alfred’s memory to Crossroads Community Services at St. Bart’s Episcopal Church, 325 Park Avenue, NY, NY 10022.
