Obituary of Richard D. Stanton

Richard D. Stanton, of Willowbrook, passed away on October 5, 2018. He would have been 83 on November 11. He was the loving husband of Brenda Joan, father of Richard, Christopher, Victoria, and Jeffrey, and father-in-law to Evelyn, Oksana, and Richard. He was the beloved grandfather of Amber, Torri, Nikko, and Trysten; Jonathan, Matthew, Andrew, and Samantha; Rebecca, Veronica, and Giada; and great grandfather to Jayce.

He was born in Brooklyn and enlisted in the Army, proudly serving in Germany and France. When he met his beloved wife in 1952, they were 17 and 13, respectively and they knew it was a love that would last forever. They were married for sixty years. A lifelong member of the Boy Scouts, he earned The Order of the Arrow and received the Silver Beaver award for his service. He was the scout master of Troop 58, Saint Rita. Richard was a pioneer in the computer field at GAF and Nabisco. His passions were his family, camping, and Disney World, traveling to Disney over 50 times.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Wounded Warrior Project would be greatly appreciated.
