Obituary of Eva Seidel

Eva Seidel (nee Cannatelli), age 93, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2018 at Seaview Nursing Home. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert (1983); loving mother of Robert Seidel (Alice), Diane Seidel, Debra Seidel, James Seidel (Lori), and William Seidel; cherished grandmother of Stephanie, Robert, Lisa, Brian, Karen, Lauren, Jaclyn, Melanie, Samantha, Will, and Bella; devoted great-grandmother of three; dear sister of Eleanor. She was preceded in death by three siblings. Mrs. Seidel was born and raised on Staten Island, in the Willowbrook neighborhood. She graduated from St. Rita's Grammar School and McKee High School. She was employed for many years as a File Clerk for the former St. Vincent's Hospital on Staten Island. Eva was a devout Catholic, avid Mets fan and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She walked to mass every day and could always be found in the back pew of St. Rita's with her rosary beads. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Friday, departing at 9:15 am. Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Rita's R.C. Church at 10 am. Interment to follow in St. Peter's Cemetery. Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 6:00 to 9:00 pm.
