Obituary of William K. McNee, Jr.

William K. McNee, Jr., age 67, of Willowbrook, passed away peacefully at home on October 16, 2018, surrounded by his family. He was the loving father of Robyn Oresto and her husband, Andy, and Janet Giglio and her husband, John; dear grandfather of Emma, Abby, Mia and Jake; devoted brother of Bonnie Dilard and her husband, Gehrig; and fond uncle of Keith and Bryan Dilgard, Melissa Betz and Diana Giancola. Billy was predeceased by his companion of 18 years , Lisa Perito. Billy was born to his parents William K. McNee, Sr. and Cornelia McNee, and raised on Staten Island, in Willowbrook. He graduated from Port Richmond High School. He was with the New York City Police Department for 32 years, retiring as a Captain in 2000. He started on the force in 1968 as a Police Trainee and most of his career was spent in the Detective Division of Brooklyn South. In his spare time he enjoyed golf, fishing and racing at Saratoga. Most of all he enjoyed his time with his family, especially his grandchildren. William was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police – Lodge 120 and the Staten Island and Jersey Shore 10-13. He enjoyed his close bond with his fellow police brethren. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (giving.mskcc.org). Visitation at the Matthew Funeral Home Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Thursday, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral Service at the Funeral Home on Friday at 10 am. Private cremation will follow.
