Obituary of Barbara A. Cicero

Barbara A. Cicero (nee Cerchio), age 66, passed away at home on October 28, 2018. She was the beloved mother of Theresa Cicero, and Christina Ortiz; loving grandmother of Sofia Morch, Juliana, Gabriella, Francesca and Christopher Ortiz; dear sister of Suzanne Tobuck, Luann Cerchio and brother in law Fred Manzo, and Vincent Cerchio; fond niece of Barbara and Frank Tardogno, and Lindy Alleva. Also survived by several nieces and nephews and cousins. Barbara will also be missed by her best friends: Doreen Thran , Anna Giaccio, Tina Bonomi , Colleen Golden-Flannery and Linda Restaino . Mrs. Cicero was born and raised on Staten Island, in the South Beach neighborhood. She was a graduate of New Dorp High School and was employed for 15 years as a Patient Care Assistant at Staten Island University Hospital. In her earlier years she worked as a hairdresser. She enjoyed spending time in the casino and loved taking care of her family and watching her granddaughter Sofia. One of her biggest enjoyments was being able to care for her patients. Funeral departing from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Friday, departing at 930 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am at Holy Family R.C. Church. Memorial visitation on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
