Obituary of Mary J. Tarquinio

Mary J. Tarquinio, born Mary Abate in West Brighton, attended Port Richmond HS. Mary Tarquinio worked in Elizabeth, NJ as a sewing machine operator for many years. Became a homemaker and raised four children. Moved to Westerleigh in 1965. Mary Tarquinio celebrated her 50th anniversary in 1992. She and her husband celebrated by taking a cruise with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed and loved her children and grandchildren and keeping the familty together. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, dancing, and going on trips to Atlantic City. Mary Tarquinio belonged to the North Shore Chapter AARP 3789 and to St. Roch's Church. She is predeceased by her husband Anthony who died in 2012. She is survived by four children: Victoria Kenney, Diana D'Arduini, Janice Minto, & Nicholas Tarquinio. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. In 2012, they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary by renewing their vows. Mary moved to West Keansburg in 2012 to be with her daughter. In 2015 she moved to Clermont, Florida. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Cornerstone Hospice, 2100 Oakley Seaver Drive, Clermont, FL 34711, WWII Veterans, or to Katie Ferraris Taylor Oncology Nursing Fund at Emory University Office of Gift Records, 1762 Clifton Road NE, Suite 1400, Atlanta, GA 30322 in Mary's memory. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Thursday, departing 9:15 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Roch's RC Church 10:00 AM. Interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday from 4:00 – 9:00 PM.
