Obituary of Nancy McCabe

Nancy McCabe (nee Posillipo), 81, of Dongan Hills, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2018. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward (1992), loving mother of Dr. Edward McCabe (Monica), Angela McCabe, and Christina Kuzar (George); devoted grandmother of Eleanor McCabe, Amanda Kuzar, EJ McCabe, Morgan Kuzar, Jacqueline McCabe, Emily Kuzar and Rheginal Emmanuel; dear sister of Louis Posillipo (Janice), and the late Anthony Posillipo; fond sister-in-law of Amelia Posillipo and Irene McCabe. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Mrs. McCabe was born in New York City in 1937, and was raised in East Harlem. She was a graduate of the Julia Richman High School. She relocated to Staten Island in 1957, settling in South Beach and later moving to Dongan Hills. Her main passion was her family, especially her husband, children and grandchildren. She also was an avid Yankees fan and enthusiastic reader and also enjoyed shopping. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Staten Island Children's Museum (1000 Richmond Terrace, Staten Island, NY 10301). Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Friday, departing at 8:45 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 am at Holy Rosary R.C. Church. Interment to follow at Ocean View Cemetery. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday and Thursday from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
