Obituary of Jennie De Nora

Jennie De Nora (nee Giaccio), 89, passed away at home peacefully on November 12, 2018. She was the beloved wife of 68 years of Joseph; loving mother of Ann Marie Grimaldi (Fred), Michel De Nora (Andrea), Lisa Castellano (Joseph); cherished grandmother of Christine Gambardella (Peter), Ralph Grimaldi (Lauren), Joseph De Nora, Michael De Nora, Joseph Castellano and Thomas Castellano; devoted great-grandmother of Ralphie, Anthony, Frankie, Madeline and Adriana; fond sister-in-law of Carrie Aufiero, Frances Ricciardi and Vicky De Nora. She was predeceased by four siblings and is survived by many nieces and nephews. Mrs. De Nora was born on Staten Island and raised in Port Richmond and is a graduate of P.S. 20 and Port Richmond High School. In her younger years she worked in retail in children's and women's clothing. Jennie became a homemaker to raise her three children and after they were older she went back to work. Her family describes her as being an excellent cook who enjoyed entertaining her family. Her specialty was eggplant parmigiana. Jennie also enjoyed traveling with her husband, enjoyed crocheting , watching "General Hospital," and feeding the birds in her yard. She kept her house meticulous and was proud of keeping her house immaculate. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Thursday, departing at 10 am. Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Theresa's R.C. Church at 10:45 am. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
