Obituary of Thomas M. McCormick

Thomas M. McCormick, age 79, passed away on November 15, 2018, at Clove Lakes Nursing Home. He was the beloved husband of the late Antoinette (2007); loving father of Kathleen McCormick-Johnson (Daniel), Karen McCormick, Kelly Cordova (Phil), Thomas McCormick (Jennifer), Mary McCormick, Matthew McCormick (Pat Binaj) and the late Patrick McCormick; cherished grandfather Gabrielle (Fiance Dre), Maria, Ashley, Thomas, Allie, Matthew, Jenna, Kaitlyn, Amanda, Hannah, Silvio, Ricardo, JoJo; devoted great-grandfather of AJ, Blake, Madelyn and Rylee; dear brother of Beverly Slaven and Melissa McCormick, and the late Ronald McCormick. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Mr. McCormick was born and raised on Staten Island, living in West Brighton and Port Richmond. He was a graduate of McKee High School. After his school days he enlisted and served for four years in the Marines and when he returned home he attended the Police Academy and was a Police Officer for 23 years with the NYPD. Some of his hobbies included doing crosswords and rooted for the NY Mets and NY Giants. He also enjoyed going for walks and indulging in sweets. Funeral Service at the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Tuesday at 10 am. Committal service to follow in Rosehill Crematory, Linden, NJ. Family and friends will be received on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 10:00 pm.
