Obituary of Kathleen M. Christensen

Kathleen Christensen (nee Cipolli), age 72, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2018. She was the beloved wife of Ronald Christensen for 49 years; beloved mother of Douglas Christensen (Jane), Jeffrey Christensen (Kathleen) and Glen Christensen (Jennifer); cherished grandmother of Tyler, Kailey, Haakon, Audrey, Gavin and Conrad; dear sister of Patricia, Albert Cipolli (Joanne), Thomas Cipolli. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Kathleen was born on Staten Island and raised in West Brighton and graduated from Port Richmond High School. She met her future husband there, he was a basketball player and she was a cheerleader. She also participated in volleyball and softball while studying there. She was employed in her younger years for Empire Trust Co., which became Bank of New York and then worked for Dreyfus. Kathleen also worked in a business she operated with her husband Ronald, K & R Stationery on Forest Avenue. She also was an excellent homemaker. Some of her hobbies included travelling and spending time at her house upstate in the Adirondack region, and her condo in Myrtle Beach. Kathleen also enjoyed cruises. She was an excellent cook and host holidays at her house. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Saturday, departing at 10:15 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church at 11 am. Committal service to follow at Rosehill Crematory, Linden, NJ. Family and friends will be received on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
