Obituary of Santina Passero

Santina Passero (nee Cingari), age 76, of Dongan Hills, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2018. She was the beloved wife of Bill Passero for 53 years; loving mother of Angela Hanratty (Raymond), Bill Passero (Andrea); Joseph Passero (Lisa), and Matthew Passero; cherished grandmother of Raymond & Melanie Hanratty, Nicole & Christina Passero, Meagan & Joseph Passero; dear sister of Maria Mortelliti, Angelo Cingari, Anthony Cingari, Dominic Cingari (Lucy), Frances Adornato (Gary), and the late Filippa Vasile. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Mrs. Passero was born in 1942 in Messina, Italy and came to the United States at age 19, settling in Manhattan, before relocating to Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. Santina moved to Staten Island two years ago. She worked as a Seamstress her entire life, using a skill she learned as a young child. She enjoyed gardening, attending Mass, and cooking and entertaining, but most of all she loved spending time with her loving family. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Monday, departing at 9:30 am. Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Holy Family R.C. Church at 10 am. Entombment will follow in Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn. Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday from 1:00 to 3:00 and 5:00 to 9:00 pm.
