Obituary of Carl J. Cerisano
Carl J. Cerisano, age 79, of New Springville, formerly of Brooklyn, passed away on November 3, 2017 at Staten Island University Hospital North. Beloved ex-husband of Ellen (nee Eckelberry); loving father of Cheryl Cerisano, and Timothy Cerisano and his wife, Gloria; cherished grandfather of Stephanie, Elizabeth, Elaine, Andrew, Gabrielle, Steven, and Lauren; devoted great-grandfather of Benjamin and Emma; dear brother of Dolly Sclafani and her husband, Anthony, Frank Cerisano and his late wife, Claire, Linda Cross and her husband, Danny, and the late Patricia Calandra; Fond brother-in-law of Johnny Calandra. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Mr. Cerisano was born on March 6, 1938, in Brooklyn. He was raised in the Borough Park section of Brooklyn, and graduated from Aviation High School. He worked for many years as a Telephone Technician for the former New York telephone Company, retiring in 1987. After his retirement he moved to the Poconos. He relocated to Staten Island four years ago. In his spare time he enjoyed DIY home improvement projects, history, travelling, and his pets. He was very mechanically inclined and is described as brilliant by his family. Carl enjoyed Italian food specialties and especially loved green olives.
