Obituary of George E. Conney

George E. Conney, age 70, passed away on November 28, 2018. He was the dear son of the late George and Teresa Conney. He was the beloved husband of Laura (nee Napolitano). He was the loving father of Melinda Surat (Daniel), George (Lynn), Jacqueline Forero ( Jorge) and Kathryn Conney. He was the cherished grandfather of Daniel, Allura, Kayleigh and Julia Surat, Jacqueline, Krystal, Peter and Shayla Forero, Vanessa, Victoria and Anthony Miller, Aoife and Kanaan Conney. He was the fond brother of Dorothy Fevelo (John) and the late Anthony Laskowski, Dolores Williams and Edward Conney. George was born and raised in Mariner's Harbor. He later moved to West Brighton where he resided there for approximately 20 years. In 1996, George and Laura moved to Castleton Corners where they lived until his passing. George was considered to be a "Jack of all trades," who was extremely handy. George worked for Bill Coull, who saw a lot of potential in George. His extensive skill set made him a very unique and valuable worker. Some years later, George became the business owner of Conney Home Inspections. In 1980, George was a founding member and former Vice President of the Trotters Motorcycle Club. His grandchildren were extremely important to him but he had an especially strong bond and shared a lot of the same interests with his grandson, Daniel. Regardless of who it was, George managed to touch the lives of everyone he met. If you met him, you would never forget him. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Tuesday, departing at 9:30 AM. Funeral Mass will be held in Holy Family R.C. Church at 10:00 AM. Cremation to follow in Rosehill Crematory, Linden, NJ. Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday from 6:00 to 9:00 PM and Monday 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 9:00 PM.
