Obituary of Harriet Mazzola

It is with profound sadness to report the passing of Harriet Mazzola, age 95, on January 14, 2019. She was the devoted wife of the late Joseph (2013) for 72 years. Harriet was the beloved mother of two daughters: Carole Rachinsky and Joan Izzo; fond mother-in-law of Robert Izzo; cherished grandmother of Rose Ann Palladino and her husband, Richard Palladino; dear great-grandmother of Lauren Palladino. Mrs. Mazzola was born and raised in Pennsylvania in 1923. She relocated to NYC and worked as a Doctor's Assistant and then as a Dental Assistant until her retirement age. She was a fabulous cook and enjoyed playing Bingo and doing crossword puzzles. Harriet will be missed more than words can say! Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Tuesday, January 22, departing at 9:00 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Pity R.C. Church at 9:30 am. Interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery. Family and friends will be received on Monday, January 21, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
