Obituary of Helen M. Bauer

Mrs. Helen M. Bauer (nee Crosson), age 83, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2019. She was the beloved wife of the late Rudolph (2001); loving mother of Theresa Jardine, Douglas Bauer (Anastasia), Patricia Smith, Michael Bauer; cherished grandmother of Megan Jardine (Michael Whitehead), Kaitlin Jardine, and Samantha Smith; dear sister of Frances Cook and the late Philip Crosson. Helen was born on Staten Island in 1935 and raised in the Midland Beach neighborhood. She was graduated from the Old New Dorp High School and was employed for many years as a Bookkeeper for Dunn and Bradstreet. Mrs. Bauer enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo, doing crossword puzzles, baking and gardening. In her younger years she was a Girl Scout Troop Leader and Past President of the American Legion post. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Saturday, departing at 9 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Pity R.C. Church at 9:30 am. Interment to follow in St. Peter's Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 10:00 pm.
