Obituary of Jane E. Day

Jane E. Day ( nee Izzo), age 89, of Westerleigh formerly of Brooklyn. Beloved wife of the late Edwin. Daughter of the late Joseph & Theresa Izzo. Loving mother of Edwin and his wife Jean, Theresa and her husband Edmund Golat, and Laura Day. Cherished grandmother of Christopher, Michael, Daniel & his wife Amanda, Kristin, Ryan and Stephen. Great grandmother of CJ. Adored sister of the late Anthony Izzo, Joseph Izzo, Edmund Izzo, Loretta Parisi, and Mildred Gervase. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was known to be Frank Sinatra’s greatest fan. She enjoyed seeing Frank Sinatra in concert in her younger years. She was an avid reader, interested in nutrition and politics. She was also first cousin to the late Vince Lombardi, coach of the Green Bay Packers. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, 2508 Victory Boulevard. A Service will be held at Matthew Funeral Home, Wednesday 7:30 PM. Family and friends may visit on Wednesday from 3 to 8 PM. Committal is private. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in her name to the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306.
