Obituary of Steven Russell D'Arpa

Born January 22, 1988, Steven Russell D'Arpa (31) passed on to his eternal home on February 7, 2019. A New Jersey native and living most recently in Staten Island, Steven was a warm, giving and kind-hearted son, brother, uncle, friend and family member to everyone who was close to his heart. He was a talented young artist who loved nothing more than blank pieces of paper to create new art, museums and galleries to explore and learn from, and a well-oiled skateboard to cruise through the streets of NYC listening to his favorite tunes. He adored spending time with his nieces, Chelsea (26), Emily (21), Emma (4), Lindsey (26) and his nephew Johnny (3), teaching them all he could about art. Even when Steven was struggling himself, he was passionate about helping others and would give the shirt off his back to those in need. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Steven was the son of his late and loving mother, Ann D'Arpa. He is survived by his father, Rick D'Arpa and stepmother, Robin D'Arpa, grandmother, Josephine D'Arpa, sister, Lisa Heyles, brother, Richard D'Arpa, sister and brother-in-law Debra and John Hagan, his sister and brother-in-law Joan and John Burress, and his sister and brother-in-law Angelina and Timothy Heaney as well as his nieces and nephew, aunts and uncles. Services will be held on Friday, February 15, 6-9pm, with a ceremony 7-8pm at Matthew Funeral Home, 2508 Victory Boulevard, Staten Island, New York, 10314.
