Obituary of Chiarina Aufiero

Chiarina Aufiero, 91, of Westerleigh, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2019.  She was the beloved wife of the late Andrea Aufiero (1992); loving mother of Vincent Aufiero and his wife, Susan; cherished grandmother of Vincent Jr. and his wife, Audrey Brown-Aufiero, Christopher, and Bianca Aufiero; dear sister of Joseph DeNora (late Jennie DeNora), Frances Ricciardi (late Louis), and Anna Vicky DeNora.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Aufiero was born on Staten Island in 1927, raised in West Brighton, and graduated from Curtis High School.  Chiarina was employed for many years as a custom drape maker and also made custom fitted plastic slip covers for furniture.  She was a gourmet cook and also loved watching sports.  Her specialties were her meatballs and rice balls!

Funeral from the Matthew Funeral  Home, Inc., on Thursday, departing at 9:15 am.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Rita’s R.C. Church at 10 am.  Interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery.  Family and friends are asked to visit on Wednesday, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
