Obituary of Edward J. O'Hare

Edward J. O'Hare passed away peacefully on April 21, 2019. He was the beloved husband of Glenna (nee Klett) O'Hare; loving father of Edward J. and his wife, Marie, Glenn and his wife, Nancy, and Brian and his wife, Louise; cherished grandfather of Emily, Eddie, Christian, Kelly, Brianna, and Dylan; dear brother of Catherine Simon, Robert O'Hare and his late wife Doreen, John O'Hare and his wife, Eileen, the late Owen and the late Michael O'Hare; fond brother-in-law of Kathleen O'Hare. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mr. O'Hare was born in Jersey City, NJ, and was graduated from Snyder High School in Jersey City. He was then drafted and served for two years in the U.S. Army. He graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Edward earned his Bachelor's Degree from Fordham University and received his Master's Degree from NYU. Mr. O'Hare was employed for many years as a Vice-President in the Public Relations Industry. He was very charitable and involved in community organizations, such as Meals on Wheels, various food pantries, and teaching CCD at Holy Family R.C. Church. Some of his hobbies included traveling, attending live theatre, reading, and writing. He was also an avid local sports fan. Most important, he was a devoted husband, proud father, grandfather, and brother. Funeral from the Matthew funeral home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Thursday, departing at 9:30 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family R.C. Church at 10 am. Interment to follow in Ocean View Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
