Obituary of Genevieve A. Phelan

Genevieve A. Phelan (nee Cipoletti), 76, passed away on April 28, 2019. She was the beloved wife of the late William Joseph Phelan, Sr. (1985), loving mother of Erin Shiffman (Peter), Jon Phelan (Jenn), and William Joseph Phelan, Jr. (Kathleen); cherished grandmother of Jenna Rose Shiffman, Kaitlyn Phelan, and William Joseph Phelan III; dear brother of Frederick Cipoletti (Laura), Carmine Cipoletti (Angela), and the late John Cipoletti (late Linda). Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Genevieve is a native Staten Islander, who was raised in New Brighton, and was graduated from Curtis High School. She was employed for many years as an Administrative Assistant for the former Bayley Seton Hospital. Mrs. Phelan enjoyed doing arts and crafts, watching television, especially Judge Judy and Jeopardy. Most important she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Funeral from the Matthew Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Thursday, departing at 9:30 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family R.C. Church at 10 am. Interment to follow in St. Peter's Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 pm and Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
