Obituary of Rose Forlenza

Rose Forlenza (nee Carbone), age 85, of Westerleigh, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2019, at Staten Island University Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Jack (2006), loving mother of John Forlenza (Grace), Rosanne Lanz (Neil), Karen Scarpati (Danny); cherished grandmother of Neil Lanz, Jr. (Theresa), Bryan Lanz (Nicole), John Forlenza (Jennifer), Michael Forlenza, and Robert Forlenza; devoted great-grandmother of Elizabeth Rose and Alayna Rose. Rose was predeceased by three brothers and three sisters. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Forlenza was born and raised on Staten Island, in West Brighton. Her father built the house that she grew up in. Rose was graduated from McKee High School. She was employed by Northfield Bank as a Teller for a number of years. Rose enjoyed casinos, especially the ones in Atlantic City, and doing jigsaw puzzles. Also, she was avid Mets fan. Most important, she enjoyed time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Monday, departing at 9:15 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rita's R.C. Church, at 10 am. Interment to follow in Ocean View Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
