Obituary of Richard T. Buonato

Richard T. Buonato June 16, 1945 – June 9, 2019 Richard passed away peacefully on June 9, 2019 with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife, Lucille Buonato, his daughters Lisa Ajello and Nicole D'Alessandro and her husband Joseph; grandchildren Lila Ajello and Emma D'Alessandro; his brothers Robert Buonato and James Buonato. Cherished brother of the late Betty Welch and Joann Dunn; beloved son of the late James and Lillian Buonato. Richard was raised in Brooklyn then moved to Staten Island later on. He was a devoted husband, father, poppa, brother and friend. Richard was a very intelligent, honest, caring man of integrity who loved life. He enjoyed spending time with his family, cruising, going to Atlantic City and he was an avid Met, Giant, and Ranger fan. He always put his family before himself. Richard served in the United States Army for four years. He graduated from Brooklyn College and Baruch College with a Bachelors and Masters degree in Business and Accounting. He was the Vice President and controller for Carl Ichan & Company his entire career. Richard was very dedicated to his job and fond of everyone who worked along side of him. Richard will be missed greatly by all those that had the privilege to know and love him. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude at St. Jude.org since donating to sick children was very important to him. Memorial visitation will be held at the Matthew Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Saturday, June 22, 2019 from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM with a Memorial Mass to follow at Holy Family RC Church, 366 Watchogue Road at 11 AM.
