Obituary of Ijeoma U. Alaka
Ijeoma Uzoamaka Alaka, 32, of Staten Island, NY, suddenly passed away peacefully at her family's home on July 3, 2019. She was the loving daughter of Alice and Augustine Alaka; dear sister of Chukwuemeka and Chidibere Alaka; committed sister-in-law of Valerie and Chrissie Alaka; caring aunt of Mason Alaka; fond cousin and niece by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Ms. Alaka was born at Richmond University Medical Center (formerly St. Vincent's Hospital) in 1987 and raised in the Fox Hills section of Staten Island. She graduated from Curtis High School in 2005 and had dreams of becoming an interior designer for HGTV. Ijeoma was the life of the party in any room she entered. She enjoyed to make people laugh and was never afraid to voice her opinion on things. She loved to work on projects on Photoshop, listen to music, and leave funny comments on social media. Despite dealing with health issues, she fought through with grace and resilience. She was truly a blessing to have around.
Visitation at the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Friday, July 19th from 3 pm to 8 pm. Wakekeeping service will be celebrated at Center Family Life Center, 59 Wright Street, Staten Island at Friday 8pm. Funeral departing from the funeral home on Saturday, July 20, at 9 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Adalbert R.C. Church, 337 Morningstar Road, Staten Island on Saturday, July 20th at 9:45am. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
