Obituary of Rose Farina
Rose Farina, 89, of Lakeland, Florida, formerly of Brooklyn, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2019. She was the beloved wife of the late Niel (2003); loving mother of Stephen Farina and his girlfriend Tracy Vaughan, and Josephine Cretella and her husband, Lou; cherished grandmother of Stephanie Ludden and her husband, Richard, Christopher Farina and his wife, Adrienne, Joseph Cretella, Thomas Cretella and his girlfriend, Alyssa Connor, and Michelle Cretella; devoted great-grandmother of Tristenne, Anistenne, Ava, Micah, and Alessandra; dear sister of Joseph Meluso, and Ann LoBianco. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Farina was born in Brooklyn in 1929, raised in the Gravesend neighborhood, and graduated from High School in Brooklyn. She was employed for Sears & Roebuck, in Flatbush, Brooklyn, as a Sales Clerk for twenty years. Rose relocated to Florida in 1988. Some of her hobbies included travelling, playing cards, bingo, trips to the casino, watching game shows, especially Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. She was good cook who made a good Sunday sauce with meatballs, braciole, and chicken rollatini.

Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Monday, departing at 9 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Pity R.C. Church at 9:30 am. Interment to follow in Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, NY. Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
