Obituary of Rita C. Schuyler

Rita C. Schuyler (nee Ansbro), 89, of Willowbrook, passed away on July 20, 2019, at Richmond University Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Edmund (2012); loving mother of Elizabeth Irizarry (Frank), Edmund Schuyler (Michelle), Dr. Michael T. Schuyler, and the late Thomas (TJ) Schuyler; cherished grandmother Edmund, Kaitlin, Matthew, Christopher, Patrick, Phillip, and Thomas; devoted great-grandmother of Cassidy Rae and Brynleigh Paige; dear sister of William Ansbro and the late Doris Smith and the late Patricia Brandon. Rita was born in Jersey City, NJ in 1930, and raised there. She worked for 14 years as a Medical Stenographer in the X-Ray department of Jersey City Medical Center, where she met her husband. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, knitting, travelling with her husband, especially trips to Atlantic City and Cape May. Most of all she enjoyed her time spent with family. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciated donations be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., on Wednesday, departing at 9:15 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Roch's R.C. Church at 10 am. Interment to follow in St. Peter's Cemetery. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
