Obituary of Marion Longo

Marion Longo (nee DeFilipps), age 90, of Bulls Head, passed away on July 23, 2019. She was the beloved wife of Andrew; loving mother of Karen Chighine; cherished grandmother of Bryan and Kelly Chighine; dear sister of the late Mary Czip. Marion was born in Brooklyn in 1929, raised in Borough Park.. For over 30 years, she was a dress designer for the garment industry. Marion enjoyed sewing, playing the piano, skiing, golfing, ice skating, dancing. In her younger days she would participate in the Roller Derby, where she would design her own costumes. Marion was an animal lover, but especially loved dogs. She dedicated her life to her daughter and grandchildren . Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Friday, departing at 9 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Pity R.C. Church at 9:30 am. Entombment to follow in St. John's Cemetery, Middle Village, NY. Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
