Obituary of Robert J. Cerio

Robert J. Cerio age 72, passed away on July 22, 2019.  He was the devoted son of the late Biagio and Cecilia Cerio. He was the beloved husband of Angela Cerio (nee Ferdinando). He was the loving father of Robert A. Cerio and Johnathan J. Cerio. He was the dear brother of Vincent, Christopher and Michael Cerio.

Robert was born and raised in Tompkinsville, Staten Island. He attended McKee High School. Robert went on to serve his country honorably in the Army during the Vietnam War. After returning home he married his wife, Angela and went on to become a Master Diesel Mechanic for various Marine and Transport companies. His true passion was steam trains. He also enjoyed making model trains, ships and various other intricate replicas. Some of his other hobbies included watching and reading science fiction, fishing and coin collecting. Robert was a very creative problem solver who could be relied on to assist and help anyone who needed his skills.  

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wounded Warrior Project would be appreciated.

Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 2508 Victory Blvd. On Saturday, 7/27/19, a wake service will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 10:00 pm. Funeral Service will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, 7/27/19 at 8 pm. Arrangements include a private cremation.
