Obituary of Helen S. Pszczola
Helen S. Pszczola (nee Sobiesiak), 93, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2019. She was the beloved wife of the late John (2015) for 66 years; loving mother of John and his wife, Lorraine, Steven and his wife, Dianne, and Robert Pszczola and his late wife, Heidi Cone (2015); cherished grandmother of Kathleen, Eileen, John, Michael, Christopher, Breanne, and Thomas; devoted great-grandmother of 12; dear sister of the late Stasia and the late Stephen.
Mrs. Pszczola was born and raised in Staten Island, specifically in Travis. When she was first married, she lived with her husband in Washington D.C. For a number of years she worked as a Teacher's Aide at P.S. 26 in Travis. Helen had fierce Polish pride, and cooked the best Polish foods. Her family acknowledges her brownies and pumpkin pies as being "World Renowned." Every Sunday she hosted and fed a houseful of people. She was an officer with the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Travis and a long-time parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church.
Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., on Friday, departing at 8:45 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, at 9:30 am. Interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, from 3:00 to 9:00 pm.
