Obituary of Vito Filingeri

Vito Filingeri, age 71, of Westerleigh, passed away on November 27, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Marilyn for 42 years. He was the loving father of Marilyn A. Filingeri and her longtime companion Oniel Miller, Salvatore Filingeri and his wife Danielle, and Nancy Izzo and her husband Matthew. He was the cherished Nonno of Nathan Filingeri and Lucas Izzo. He was a dear brother of Domenico and Frank Filingeri. One of Vito’s closest friends had to be his amazing dog Oliver. Vito came over from Sicily to the U.S. in 1969. In 1974, Vito met the love of his life Marilyn and quickly started their family. Vito was known for having a work ethic second to none. He was the ultimate family man spending time with his wife and kids at their house in upstate New York. Vito was an avid hunter who went hunting with his cousins and friends. He will be remembered as a hard working man who was a great role model to all who knew him and he will be dearly missed.
