Obituary of William J. Montalbano

William J. Montalbano, 69, of Westerleigh, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2019. He was the beloved husband of Lori (nee O'Connell) for 35 years, loving father of Jennifer Montalbano-Gill and her husband, Harminder Gill, Joseph Montalbano and his fiancé, Teresa Montuori; cherished grandfather Akal; dear brother of Dr. Robert Montalbano and his wife, Leigh. He was also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Montalbano was born on Staten Island, raised in Meier's Corner, and graduated from Port Richmond High School. He was a Staff Sergeant in the Army National Guard, being stationed on Manor Road and served during Operation Desert Storm. William was employed as a Sanitation Worker, with NYC, retiring in 2001. Some of hobbies included fishing, being a movie and trivia buff, and loved music, especially music by John Lennon.

Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., on Saturday, departing at 9:15 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Roch's R.C. Church at 10 am. Entombment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit Friday, from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 10:00 pm.
