Obituary of Janko Morovic
Janko Morovic, age 86, passed away on September 21, 2019 at Staten Island University Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Linde for 61 years, loving father of Suzanne Morovic, Lisa Kimball and husband Anthony, and cherished grandfather of Cheyanna.
Janko was born in Zman, Croatia and emigrated to Italy at the age of 17, where he lived for two years until he found work on a freighter ship traveling around the world. After two years he disembarked in Brooklyn, NY where he held various jobs until his permanent position as a clerk with Goldsmith Brothers. He met Linde at a dance hall in Manhattan and they married in 1958 living in Brooklyn until 1989 when they moved to Staten Island. Janko learned the carpentry trade and worked as a carpenter for 20 years until his retirement. Janko loved to travel and went with Linde on 15 cruises, Europe and every year to his homeland Croatia. Janko was an artist in all media, a carpenter, speaker of four languages, Croatian, Italian, Spanish and English, and had an encyclopedia of knowledge on world history, politics, cultures and the arts. He was a lover of nature, all animals, books, classic art, opera and classical music.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, 10/5, at Our Lady of Pity R.C. Church at 10:30 am.
