Obituary of Ann F. Garofalo

On Saturday, October 5th, 2019, Ann F. Garofalo (née Capriotti), loving wife and mother of three, passed away at the age of 89. Ann was born in Staten Island, New York on May 10th, 1930 to the late Alfred and Lauretta Capriotti and was the youngest of five children. Ann worked as a licensed practical nurse before exiting the workforce to become a full-time homemaker after the birth of her first child. Ann and her husband Joseph raised their 3 children in their lifelong home on Evergreen Avenue in Staten Island. Ann was a devoted wife and loving mother who always placed family at the center of her life. Ann enjoyed hosting parties at her home and making every guest, whether lifelong friend or new acquaintance, feel welcomed and loved. She was known to her friends and family as an outgoing and social person who was at her happiest when she was surrounded by loved ones, whether that was at the local bowling alley, bingo parlor, or around her kitchen table. Ann was proceeded in death by her husband Joseph and her four siblings: Theresa Capriotti, Joseph Capriotti, Anthony Capriotti, and Loretta Capriotti (Notobartolo). Ann is survived by her three children and their spouses: Anthony and Sharon, Lauretta and Santo, and Alfred and Darin. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Nicholas, Lauren, Bianca, Matthew, and Amanda. Family and friends will be received at Matthew Funeral Home, 2508 Victory Blvd, Staten Island, New York on Tuesday, October 8th from 2:00pm – 4:00pm and 7:00pm - 10:00pm. Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, October 9th at 9:30am at St. Teresa's Church located at 1634 Victory Blvd, Staten Island, New York. A procession from the funeral home will depart 45 minutes prior. Interment to follow at Moravian Cemetery.
