Obituary of Natale J. "Sonny" Bonondona

Natale J. "Sonny" Bonondona, age 80, passed away on October 11, 2019. He was the devoted son of the late Frank and Jennie Bonondona. He was the beloved husband of Gloria for 58 years. He was the loving father of Dawn Ponisi and her husband Chris and Lauren Smith and her husband David. He was the cherished grandfather of Nicholas, Christian, Dylan, Matthew and Daniel Luke. He was the dear brother of Frances Cartusciello and her husband Mel and Marie DeFontes and her husband Joe. He is also survived by his loving nieces. Natale was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who always put his family first. He served his country honorably from 1958 to 1964. Natale was a dedicated worker who was employed at Sun Chemical, where he worked as a Production Supervisor for over 25 years. While working at Sun Chemical he started his own auto business, Son-Glo Autos. He always had a passion for cars and decided he wanted to start this business with the full support of his family. Natale was an avid Yankee fan who enjoyed watching them play. In his spare time he loved watching Jeopardy and doing crossword puzzles. Natale has had a wonderful life sharing many wonderful moments and memories with his family and friends. He and Gloria celebrated their 50th anniversary by taking a cruise to Canada with their family. Natale and his family regularly enjoyed trips to Lancaster. Traveling was a huge part of his life, going to Europe and the Caribbean. Summertime was his favorite time of year when he could tend to his cars and enjoy the sun and spend time in his pool with his family. Natale will be remembered as a family man and wonderful role model. He will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure to know him. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Tuesday, 10/15/19, departing at time 9:00 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Holy Child R.C. Church, at 10:00 AM. Family and friends may visit on Sunday and Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
