Obituary of Annina Forte

Annina Forte, 91, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2019. She was the beloved wife of the late Mario (2009) for 63 years; loving mother of Carmine Forte and his wife, Rosa, Maria Reonegro and her husband, Angelo, and Gena Miller and her husband, Stephen; cherished grandmother of Anna Cardinuto and her husband, James, Diana Baldassarre and her husband, Antonio, Mario Forte and his wife, Shannon, Christina and Alexandra Miller; devoted great-grandmother of Michael, Elizabeth, Anthony, Emmah, Mario, Ariana, and Milania; dear sister of Dolores Petrecca and her late husband, Domenic, the late Giovannina Forte and her late husband, Addolorato, and the late Anthony Forte and his wife, Angelina. Mrs. Forte was born in Italy in 1928, and emigrated to the United States in 1955, settling in Little Italy, NYC, before relocating to Staten Island in 1964. In her younger years she worked as a Seamstress, retiring in 1965, to raise her youngest daughter. Some of her hobbies included gardening, crocheting, cooking. Everyone loved her Pizelle! Most importantly she loved taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Annina was a very devout Catholic, attending mass regularly, and when she couldn't, she would watch it on television. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Tuesday, October 15, departing at 10 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Teresa's R.C. Church at 10:45 am. Entombment to follow in Moravian Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, 10/14, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:30 pm.
