Obituary of Marie E. McManus

Marie Petersen (nee) McManus, age 89, of Staten Island, NY, passed away on Tuesday October 15, 2019, surrounded by her loved ones. Marie was born on August 26, 1930. Marie grew up on a farm in Travis before moving to Castleton Corners. Eventually, Marie settled in at Westwood Avenue. Marie was actively involved at the Todt Hill Friendship Club for over 25 years, where she served as president. Marie loved her community and enjoyed crocheting for others, trips to Atlantic City with her friends, and spending time with family. Marie is predeceased by her son Walter Swiatovy, affectionately known as Brother, and is survived by her children Elizabeth Grasso, Victoria Tuite, Valerie Tuite, Veronica Tyson, William Tuite, and Patrick Tuite, as well as 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Friends and family will be received at Matthew Funeral Home 2508 Victory Blvd., Staten Island, NY Friday October 18, 2019 from 2 -8PM. A funeral will take place 10AM Saturday morning at the funeral home, followed by a procession to Marie's final resting place at Fairview Cemetery on Staten Island.
