Obituary of Domenick J. Rivell

Domenick, "Big Dom", age 80, passed away on December 3rd 2019. He was the

devoted husband of the late Doris Rivell for 54 years. He was the loving father of his

son Bryan and his wife Laura, and his daughter Anna Pistek and her husband Erik. He

was the Dear Grandfather of Bryan Rivelli Jr, Jeanette Pistek, Samantha Pistek and

Veronica Pistek.

 

Domenick was born on August 14, 1939 on Monroe Street, Manhattan. He served in

the US Army. Domenick and Doris were married on the 4th of July 1958 and resided in

Sheepshead Bay Brooklyn where they began to raise a family. ln 1974 Domenick

moved his family to Eltingville, Staten lsland. Domenick once worked as a school

custodian and a cab driver.

 

Domenick obtained his Tractor Trailer License then later drove concrete trucks for

Valente Ready mix, Ferrara Brothers and Principe Dana. He was very proud to be a

site steward for the Teamsters Local Union 282 until his retirement. ln the 1970's

Domenick appeared in a truck driving school commercial on television. His most

proudest moments were his boasting of how he had worked on several large

construction projects with TDX Construction, like the renovation of The College of

Staten lsland, Baruch College and the new Office of Medical Examiners Office, 26th

Street, Manhattan.

 

During his retirement years, he was an avid boxing fan who enjoyed trips to casinos,

and trips to Florida and Las Vegas. He is remembered by his family always singing and

dancing.

 

Friends and Family may visit Matthew Funeral Home, lnc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on

Friday December 6, 2019 from 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Private Cremation.
