Obituary of Patrick F. McDonald III

Patrick F. McDonald III, AKA "The Big Cheese", passed away peacefully on December 3, 2019 at the age of 86. He was the beloved husband of Marilyn McDonald. He was the loving father of Patrick McDonald IV and his wife Maria and the late Kevin and Maureen McDonald. He was the cherished grandpa of Isabella Maria, Alexandra Rose and Dylan McDonald-Ostrow. Patrick was predeceased by his dear brother Joseph McDonald and his devoted sister, Rose McDonald. Patrick was a proud member of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees and was a member of the Executive Board of Local 4. Throughout his lifetime he was fortunate to cross paths with many famous celebrities and performers. For many years, during the summertime, Patrick was responsible for lighting and stage equipment for many events including the New York Philharmonics performing in the NYC Parks. Patrick was a very caring and generous man who had a great sense of humor. He loved putting smiles on the faces of those closest to him. Most importantly he loved and cherished his family and those special moments he shared with them. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Frday, 12/6/19 departing at 11:15 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's R.C. Church at 12:00 PM. Interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Family and friends may visit on Thursday, 12/5/19 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM.
