Obituary of Vincenza Buscemi

Vincenza Buscemi (nee Bruno), 92, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2019. She was the beloved wife of the late Salvatore (2012), loving mother of Joanne Agosta, and Antoinette Buscemi; cherished grandmother of John Agosta, his wife Michele, and Salvatore Agosta, and his wife, Maria; devoted great-grandmother of Gianni and Salvatore. She was predeceased by her five siblings. Vincenza is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Mrs. Buscemi was born in Palermo, Italy, in 1927, and raised there. She came to the United States at age 19, settling in Ridgewood, before relocating to Staten Island in 1995. In her earlier years she worked as a Seamstress. Some of her hobbies included crocheting, knitting, doing word search puzzles. Most of all she was an excellent cook who loved feeding and entertaining people, especially around the holidays. Funeral from the Matthew funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Tuesday, departing at 10 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Pity R.C. Church, 10:30 AM. Interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Family and friends may visit on Monday from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
