Truly sad to see Aunt Faye leave us. This marks the end of an era. She was the last of the wonderful generation of our parents. I remember the old days of the Palestino Christmas Parties. Our family was so large and so close-knit that we had to rent a Knights of Columbus hall to fit us all in. And the annual summer picnics when we would have to rent school buses so we could all travel together out to Long Island. And Aunt Catherine’s and Uncle Frank’s anniversary parties at Gargiulio’s in Coney Island that were later held at their beach house in Breezy Point. Aunt Faye loved being with family. She was always checking on everyone to see if they were enjoying themselves. She always had a warm smile and somehow managed to make each of her nieces and nephews feel like they were the most important and the most special and her favorite. Rest in peace, dear Aunt and know that you leave behind wonderful memories for us all.
