Obituary of Rose C. Walsh

Rose (nee Slane) Walsh, 100 Rose was born in Manhattan and moved to Great Kills as a child. She married her husband Daniel in 1948 and moved to New Brighton, where she lived for the rest of her life. She dedicated her life to her family and to helping others. She believed in faith, family and friends. She was accepting of all, and completely understanding. She celebrated her 100th birthday this past September surrounded by her family & friends. She was an active member of St. Paul's Parish until its closing. She was still active in the St. Paul's Bingo Club and the Arrochar Friendship Club. Rose was predeceased by her loving husband Daniel and her daughters-in-law Deborah and Nancy Walsh. She is survived by her six children Daniel Walsh, Marilyn Brown, Kevin Walsh (Betsy), Barbara Thomson (James), Cathy Giallorenzo (Patrick) & Geraldine Walsh (Doug Knisley). She is also survived by 19 grandchildren Heather Herbert, Daniel & Timothy Walsh, Allyson Arens, Meredith Brown, Ryan, Kevin & Kaitlin Walsh, Lauren Casey, James, Dennis, Meghan, Sean & Gregg Thomson, Kerry Varvaro, Joseph, Patrick, Brian & Michael Giallorenzo. 18 Great Grandchildren, Dylan, Michael, Ryan & Danni Herbert, James & Katelyn Walsh, Maya & Kieran Walsh, Raegan & Brayden Casey, Avery & James Thomson, Anthony, Jonathan, Christian & Savannah Varvaro, Rosanna & Taylor Thomson. The funeral is from the Matthew Funeral home on Saturday 12/28, departing 10:15 AM. Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart RC Church at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow in the St. Peters Cemetery. Family & Friends may visit on Friday, 12/27/19 from 3-7 PM.
