Obituary of Carl J. Cangialosi
Carl J. Cangialosi, 89, of Port Richmond, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2020. He was the beloved husband of the late Antoinette (1972) and longtime companion of Angiolina Varrassi; loving father of Carl J. Cangialosi, Jr. and his wife Valerie, and Joseph Cangialosi and his wife Susan; cherished grandfather of Michael Cangialosi, Carl Cangialosi, Joseph Cangialosi, Jr. and his wife Angelica, Anthony Cangialosi and his wife Glenda, and Christie Spadola and her husband Ryan; fond great-grandfather of Michelle Cangialosi. Carl was predeceased by his two siblings; devoted uncle of Maria Marchiano, and Lori Burns and her husband Robert.
Mr. Cangialosi was born in1930, raised in Port Richmond, and graduated from McKee High School. He then was drafted and served during the Korean War in the U.S. Army. When he returned home he and his brother worked as home builders. Later on he worked for the New York City Housing Authority and FDNY as a carpenter. Carl was an avid fisherman, who loved going out on his boat the" Christie Lynn," and also enjoyed playing cards.
Funeral from the Matthew Home Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Monday, departing at 9:45 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Roch's R.C. Church, at 10:30 am. Committal service to follow in Rosehill Crematory, Linden, NJ. Family and friends will be received on Sunday, from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
