Obituary of Domenica "Minnie" Zasa Costello

Domenica "Minnie" Zasa Costello, age 87, passed away on January 3, 2020. She was the devoted daughter of the late Patsy and Vincenza Zasa. She was the beloved wife of the late Lawrence Costello. She was the loving mother of William Costello and his wife Colleen, Lawrence Costello Jr and his wife Linora, Richard Costello and his wife Linda and Susan Costello and her wife Stacy Lauro. She was the dear grandma of Richie, Jimmy, Dana, Larry, Kevin, James, Anthony, Samantha, Billy, Kelly and the late Jaclyn. She was the cherished great grandma of 8. She was the fond sister of Benny, Patsy and Molly Zasa and the late Rocky Zasa and Millie Ventrone. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Minnie was born and raised in West Brighton. Throughout her life, she always put her family first. Minnie was an extremely selfless person who always welcomed family and friends with open arms. She had an infectious smile and was a truly genuine kind hearted person. She was an amazing cook who enjoyed breaking bread with those she cared for most. Minnie touched the lives of many over the years and will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure to know her. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10314. On Wednesday, 1/8/20, departing at 9:15 AM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of Mount-Carmel St. Benedicta R.C. Church at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow in St. Peter's Cemetery. Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, 1/7/20, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 9:00 PM.
