Obituary of Genevieve M. Roberts

Genevieve M. Roberts (nee Caputo), 94, of Monroe Township, NJ, formerly of Bulls Head, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2020. She was the beloved wife of the late John F. Roberts; loving mother of Pamela Vergoglino and Paula Roberts. Fond mother-in-law of Rocco Vergoglino; cherished grandmother of Matthew Farina, Dawn Farina, Melanie Szczupakiewicz, Lisa Scavuzzo and Anthony Vergoglino; devoted great-grandmother of Haley, Nathan and Zachary Farina, and Vincent and Ava Scavuzzo; dear sister of Marge Nicosia and Rosalie San Fillippo, and the late Lillian Copertino, late Mae Atwater, late Jill Schott, late Ann Suitana, late William Caputo, and the late Anthony Caputo. Mrs. Roberts was born in Brooklyn in 1926, and lived there for 80 years before moving to Bulls Head, Staten Island, in 2005. She relocated to Monroe Township approximately three years ago. Genevieve was a member of the Todt Hill Friendship Club and also enjoyed gardening, traveling and dancing. In lieu of flowers, donations in Genevieve's name may be made to a charity of your choice. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Friday, departing at 10 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Pity R.C. Church at 10:30 am. Interment to follow in Pinelawn Memorial Park, Pinelawn, NY. Family and friends may visit on Thursday from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
