Obituary of Salvatore Frank DeSiato

Salvatore F. DeSiato, 95, of Tampa FL, passed away, Thursday, February 27, 2020. Born on Staten Island, NY, he graduated from McKee High School. He was a World War II Navy veteran, and was a retired electrical engineer. In his later years he volunteered his time at St. Joseph's Hospital, Town and Country Hospital, and Tampa International Airport. He was also an active member of Incarnation Catholic Church in Tampa. In his younger days, Sal enjoyed dancing and live music. He was a NY Yankees fan, and travelled to many major league ballparks to see them play. Salvatore was preceded in death by his children's mother, Carmella Ruggirello DeSiato, his beloved grandson, Ralph Erich Fago, loving parents Dominick and Jenny (Viola), and dear siblings Rose Pietromonaco, Theresa Garzone, Louis DeSiato, Antoinette Parisi, Angelina Scaramuzzi, and Anne Acquesta. He is survived by his daughter, Jeanette DeSiato Fago and her husband Ralph, his son, Dominick DeSiato and his wife Diane Miller DeSiato, his daughter, Deborah DeSiato, his grandchildren, Jana, Diane, Jamie, and Dominick Joseph, four great grandchildren, and brothers Michael, Dominick, Anthony, and John (Barbara), sisters Margaret Madalone (Anthony, "Junior") and Mary Ferone, and many nieces and nephews. Sal remained youthful until his final year of life, never considering himself elderly. While living in his assisted living facility, he thought it was filled with "all those old people". He was 95 years young, and remained sharp as a tack until his last day. He was not ready to leave this earth, and we were not ready for him to leave. He will be truly missed. Salvatore will be waked on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, Oldsmar West Hillsborough Chapel, 6802 Silvermill Dr., Tampa, FL 33635, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Funeral services and visitation for family and friends will be from Matthew Funeral Home, 2508 Victory Blvd., Staten Island , NY 10314, on Monday, March 9, 2020, beginning at 9:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Roch RC Church, 602 Port Richmond Ave., Staten Island, NY 10302, at 11:30 am. Interment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, Staten Island, NY
