Obituary of Joan Marie Folasco

1/11/1940 - 4/13/2020 On the morning of April 13, 2020, Joan M. Kokell Folasco was called home by our Lord in Heaven after a long battle of Dementia. Joan was a lifelong resident of Staten Island, NY. She loved life and having fun. Singing and dancing were her favorite things to do when she wasn't watching her daily soaps or a good black and white movie. She loved Jesus and all of his creatures, she loved her pet cats, and always took care of the neighborhood strays. Joan was friendly, kind, compassionate, caring, and selfless. She spoke straight from her heart when offering advice to anyone that needed it. Joan was preceded in death by her parents George Sr. Kokell and Alvera Kokell, sisters Ruth Ann Kokell Denning and Dolores Kokell Coulter. Joan will be greatly missed and survived by her beloved companion of 41 years, Ronnie Strobel. She is also survived by her siblings; sister Barbara Belvin and brother George Kokell. She leaves behind her loving children, Louis Folasco Jr, and wife Julia, Donna Bevilaque, and husband Vincent, and Steven Folasco, and wife Laura, eight Grandchildren and four Great Grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Joan's memory to an animal shelter charity of your choice. A memorial service for a celebration of Joan's life will be announced at a later date.
