Obituary of Arthur E. Barnard

Arthur E. Barnard, age 66, passed away on Friday, May 15 at home with his wife and son by his side. Arthur was the beloved son of Frank C. Barnard Jr. and the late Marjorie. He was the loving husband of Annamay Barnard (nee Conner). He was the devoted father of Arthur E. Barnard Jr. He was the dear brother of Frank C. Barnard III and his wife Debbie and James T. Barnard and his wife Rosalie. He was the cherished brother-in-law of Harolyn Elliott and her husband Joe, Sharon Gerwer and her husband Gary, Brenda Barton and her husband Gary and Jill Aiello and her husband Rocco. Arthur is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Arthur was a life-long resident of Staten Island. He worked 31 years for the NYC Department of Education as a Master Mechanic and Fleet Director. Arthur was a devoted trustee for over 30 years at Christ United Methodist Church. Art greatly enjoyed spending time in his garages doing what he loved. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Christ United Methodist Church, 1890 Forest Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10303 in Arthur's memory. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 2508 Victory Blvd. There will be a private viewing for family only. A memorial service celebrating Arthur's life will be held at a later date.
