Obituary of Rose M. DeMartino

Rose DeMartino, age 90, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loved ones, on Saturday, May 15, 2021. Rose was born November 13, 1930 in Manhattan, to Nunzio and Maria (nee Blanda) Tornabene. In 1962, Rose married Giuseppe DeMartino in St. Athanasius Roman Catholic church in Brooklyn, New York. She worked as an Office Manager at Dryer and Traub, Real Estate Law firm, for several years. She was a dedicated employee and she was well-liked and respected by all at the firm. In the 1990's, Rose was a member of the National Organization of Italian American Women. Rose loved to keep in touch with her family and friends, and she was loved by all who knew her. She will live in our hearts forever. Rose is survived by her children Michele and Michael, her son-in-law Chris, her grandchildren Andrew and Christopher (whom she adored) and other family and good friends. Rose is preceded in death by her loving spouse Giuseppe DeMartino. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Tuesday, departing at 10:00 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Pity R.C. Church at 10:30 am. A private cremation will follow. Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday from 4:00 to 9:00 pm. Due to covid, all visitors must wear masks, practice social distancing and be mindful that due to current capacity limitations, there may be a small wait to visit.
