Obituary of Thomas Carfagna

Thomas Carfagna – 65 Born in Brooklyn, NY grew up in Staten Island, NY. He later moved to Freehold, NJ. Thomas passed away peacefully, after battling a prolonged illness, with his loved ones by his side on May 13, 2021. Thomas is predeceased by his wife Susan, of 30 years, and his parents, Joseph and Anne Carfagna, and brother John. He was the devoted father of Stacy, Tammy Thigpen (Brian) and Thomas Jr. (Athena); cherished grandfather of Kylie, Gracie Sue and Christian; loving brother of Barbara Updale, Joanne and longtime companion Frances Depaolo and many nieces and nephews. Thomas worked as a former crane operator and M.H.B. for the NYCTA for 28 years, retiring in 2015. He Graduated Port Richmond High School in June of 1974. Mr. Carfagna enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. Family meant everything to him. Thomas was a diehard NY Yankees fan and his all-time favorite player was Mickey Mantle (The Mick). His hobbies were spending time with his family, model trains, watching his NY Yankees, weekend getaways, and bird watching.
