Kind man, loving father, hardworking, great chef, good at building and fixing things, enjoys family and a good laugh...those are the things I think about when I think of Higinio and the great qualities he possessed. He was always willing to help and generous with his time and cooking talents, his stuffed shrimp is unmatched! I've known Uncle Higinio since I was a pre-teen and have always enjoyed my interactions with him over the years, traveling to NYC to stay with him and my aunt or seeing him at family gatherings for my cousins. He was very good to my family. This is a tough loss for everyone and he will be greatly missed.

I’ll always remember how Uncle Higinio would always offer something to eat or drink at anytime of the day. Every time we went to visit he would always be willing to chef it up in the kitchen, anything you like he could make it. He would even make their dog (Mickey) gourmet meals. Best fed dog I’ve ever met lol. Uncle Higinio will forever be missed but never forgotten.

Higino was a pleasure to know. He always had the kindest things to say. If he wasn't offering you something he was offering a helping hand with whatever you needed. And even when he was in pain from his arthritis he was all smiles and warmth. He will be greatly missed.

I remember when Titi Esther and Uncle Higinio got married and they came to Hawaii for their honey moon. We played outside and Uncle Higinio helped me with my soccer skills. I also, remember when ever we came to visit he was always ready to give you coffee or something to eat. He even offered to fire up the grill late at night. Uncle Higinio, you will be missed but never forgotten. Rest in peace!

What I remember most about Higinio is when we first met, he spoke very little English and I spoke very little Spanish! Despite that, it didnt' stop us and we were still able to communicate! I remember his laugh and most of all, his love for food and his countrymen! He brought us together at the dinner table whenever there was a family event! He was an excellent cook and you could tell he put a lot of love into the dishes he prepared! I liked talking with him when we were all together with the family and extended family! You will be missed and thought of often! You were taken way too soon! Rest in the arms of our Lord! Love Always, Marion!

I remember going to church every Sunday with all of you in NJ. I remember when the music was playing you could not clap to the regular beat but you could do the special clap to the song. I also remember the circus in Madison square garden and six flags trip we all took. My mom asked you something mocking Spanish and saying loca loca loca (I can't spell in Spanish I am trying to write as it sounds in English lol) you said that means the skeleton LOL! You will be missed. Thank you for trying to give me advance when I was younger. Do not think I never listen. I also remember you teaching your daughters Spanish and Arianna would always answer back in English. I use to ask you how do you say this or that in Spanish all the time. You will be truly missed. Higinio, our true friend, who was always upbeat, optimistic and never complained. A great chef who was always cooking a great meal for us. Always the same Higinio and loved by us. We will miss his smile and laugh. He was a good, kind, warm, giving man who loved his family very much. We are heartbroken. Higinio you will be truly missed, but this I know for sure that you are in the presence of your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The bible says, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Your family will watch over your two daughters Arianna and Sophia most definitely. Loving Memory: As a family we would go to church on Sundays and sometimes stop for bagels. Higinio would say, I will pay for them. I would thank him. He said, don't thank me, thank God.
