Obituary of Luciano Padilla Jr.

Dr. Luciano Padilla, Jr. passed away peacefully in his home alongside his beloved wife and his family. He was born on September 27, 1940, in Brooklyn, N.Y. He was a father (to so many), a mentor, and an amazing example of what Paul meant when he said, “follow me as I follow Christ.” Dr. Padilla began his public ministry in Connecticut in 1961 and later he Pastored the World Harvest Community Center, formally known as Bay Ridge Christian Center, a bilingual and multicultural ministry, for 45 years. He helped the church grow into its present state of multiple ministries, among them; Bay Ridge Christian Academy a K3-8th grade Christian School, and a Bible Institute that trained lay people for the work of ministry. Dr. Padilla is survived by his wife Blanca Luz Padilla who he was happily married to for the past fifty-eight years. He is also survived by his son Luciano Padilla III, his wife Yvette, his daughter Judith Vega and her husband Rick. His grandchildren are as follows; Ricardo Jr., Bianca Marie, Luke, Leah Vega, Celeste, Jason, Sydney, and Kalessi Padilla. His grandchildren will always remember him as a generous, loving, caring, and devoted grandfather, who always had words of wisdom to share. He will be remembered as a man after God’s own heart. He left a legacy for us all and he lived by this biblical truth, “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain”. Philippians 1:21 Visitation at the World Harvest Community Center, 6324 7th Avenue, Brooklyn, NY, on Thursday, March 23, from 7:00 to 10:00 pm. Service will begin at 7:00 pm.
